AIDS Ark funds genotype resistance blood tests for children at the Red Cross Hospital in Cape Town.

If children become resistant to their first-line ARVs, they face challenges in securing second-line treatment. The genotype testing allows their carers to make a strong case to get them into the right programme or trial for continued care, as opposed to no care at all.

Medical Action Myanmar

AIDS Ark enables HAART medication and full medical care for 85 people with HIV in urgent need through Medical Action Myanmar’s Hlaingthayar clinic.

They assist some of the poorest people in Burma.

FXB India

HIV+ Burmese refugees in Manipur state, India, on the border with Myanmar, are in urgent need of HAART treatment.

As refugees, they are not eligible for free care at the Indian Government clinics.

AIDS Ark provides a grant to FXB India to provide HIV medication and care for 63 beneficiaries currently.  We are particularly keen to scale up our support for this project.
